Meet Casey

Meet Casey

Brett Clements

Meet Casey Callahan! Casey is our senior graphic design intern who works primarily on motion graphics for our marketing team. She’s graduating this weekend and heading to Seattle to begin her career, but before she gets away we’re taking the opportunity to chat about a few of her favorite things and her exciting future plans.

What’s your favorite aspect of OU’s VisComm program?

It’s been great getting to work with the people in my major. We’ve gone through the program together, so it’s cool to share our designs and struggles with each other and to watch everyone discover their own personal style.

How would you spend your perfect day?

I would start off at my favorite bakery in Seattle, ordering a cinnamon pretzel pastry and a cappuccino. Then I would hike a mountain trail, swim in a lake, and definitely eat some breakfast tacos (Casey’s favorites are Big Truck’s and Whole Food’s). For the evening, I’d probably do something I’ve never done before like, oh i don’t know, maybe salsa dancing?

What do you enjoy listening to?

My favorite bands are Codeine, The Lumineers, and 21 Pilots. For some reason, I really enjoy listening to sad music. I’ve also been listening to a lot of podcasts. My favorites are Serial and Millennial–you should check them out.

If you had a time machine, where would you go?

I wouldn’t want to see the future. Hmmm, I’d probably go back a few decades so I could hang out with Obama when he was in college. I think we’d get along. He seems like a cool guy.

What were you most concerned about when you were 10?

Getting glasses! I thought I would be so cool if I had glasses, but I had perfect vision. I remember even purposefully messing up on my eye exam because I wanted them so badly. But of course they gave me headaches when I got them, so I only wore them for like 2 weeks.

Name something on your bucket list.

I would love to hike the Appalachian Trail. I’m saving it for my midlife crisis, but I think it would be such an awesome adventure.

Thanks Casey!
