Meet Kris

Courtney

Meet Kris Glenn. Kris is our Vision Architect on the One University Store’s Digital Innovation team. “But don’t let that title fool you,” he assures us. “I can’t build anything–just ask my wife.” Kris’s role is to help integrate technology across campus, both in academic areas and in core University functions.

We think Kris is a pretty solid guy. He’s thoughtful, sensible, and he wears cool socks. Here he shares his favorite bands, his Dennis Rodman obsession, and why he believes cats are better than dogs.

Where did you go to school? I’m a proud Sooner.

What’s the best thing about your hometown? I’m from Healdton, Oklahoma–home of Sherri Coale, Rue McClanahan (Blanche from Golden Girls), and of course the best gas station food to ever grease a spoon.

Tell us about your favorite book, TV show, or movie. My favorite book is Bad As I Wanna Be, which is the first in a series of Dennis Rodman books. If you want to know more about my Dennis Rodman obsession, just read this. My favorite TV show is Saved By The Bell, and if anyone reading this wants to have a SBTB trivia battle I will meet you at the Max to settle it.

What type of music do you like to listen to? Do you have a favorite band or artist? The Foo Fighters are the best band on the planet. Seriously, who wouldn’t want to hang out with Dave Grohl? He has to be the coolest, most normal rock star alive. Beyond the Foos I have a special place in my heart for 80s hair metal. I grew up listening to Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, Van Halen, and any group of guys who had bigger hair and more makeup than my mom.

What is your favorite place to visit? Gruene, Texas. Hands down. This little nugget in central Texas is as American as apple pie and iPhones.

At happy hour I order: beer.

What was your first computer? My first computer was one of the iMac G3. You know the ones with the colors? I had turquoise. It was so cool.

I cannot live without my: Phone. I admit, I go into panic attacks without it. I need a phone charger surgically implanted.

What is your favorite social media site? My favorite social media to post on is Facebook, but my favorite social media to look at is Instagram. There are no politics.

Dogs or Cats? I’m a cat guy. They are smarter than dogs.

What would we find in your fridge? Dr. Pepper. Beer. Horseradish sauce.

What did you care about most at age 10? WWF wrestling, Capri Sun (shout out to pacific cooler!), and Bon Jovi.

Thanks so much, Kris!
