Say Hello to Savannah Saing, we like to call her Sav. A Public Relations Major with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies graduating in May of 2018. Don’t be fooled by her California roots, she’s definitely going to miss her time spent in Norman, Oklahoma.
What is your current role at IT?
I am a Marketing Intern for the Marketing and Communications Team. I work closely with graphic designers, videographers and other marketing interns to make everything from campaigns and social media strategies to writing blog posts. You might also catch me driving the Tech Taxi around campus or passing out T-shirts in the Union.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really enjoy our team. We all work really well together; we collaborate and have the freedom to be creative. I think that’s the best part of our job.
What were you up to before you were a Marketing Intern?
Before I was a Marketing Intern, I was actually on IT’s services team. I was the person when someone called with a tech issue I would work to help them solve it!
How does technology influence your daily life, your work, and school?
Honestly, I would not get anything done. I use Technology to research for PR classes, to stay current with the news and social media, and to create campaigns for OU IT.
What are you most excited for after graduation?
I’m excited to not worry about school.
Do you have a job lined up?
I do! I just accepted a position as a Public Relations Coordinator at Gensler, an architecture firm in Dallas.
How do you think OU has prepared you for that role?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t have the job. OU has helped me find what I love and am passionate about.
A lighter topic. It’s Saturday night, what are you up to?
I’m with my girls. Dancing at Logie’s.
What are you going to miss most about Norman? Saturday nights? Dancing with your girls at Logie’s?
Haha! yes. And all the people, swirls at the Mont, and tailgating before football games.
If you could do it all over again? Would you choose the same path?
If I could do it all over again… I would definitely choose the same path.
