Hey Sooners! In the midst of all the cramming (ahem studying well in advance) for exams, sometimes you need a brain break. Here are some great events to help you de-stress before finals week. Plan your perfect weekend below, and may the curve be ever in your favor.


The OU School of Music is hosting the New Horizons Band  for their free concert this Thursday night 8:00 to 10:00 pm.

Get your popcorn and watch free screenings of the new movie ‘Deadpool’ this Friday before it’s available on Netflix or DVD! Screenings are scheduled at 6:00, 9:00 pm, and midnight.

Take your friends out to the ball park to watch OU baseball play Kansas State! Games are scheduled for Friday at 6:00 pm, Saturday at 3:00 pm, and Sunday at 1:00 pm. Admission is free with your OU student ID.

Start finals week off right this Sunday by heading over to the Bizzell Library (Community Room LL118) to spend time with some therapy dogs, play some games, and more! This event is free and is scheduled from 4:00 to 10:00 pm.


Thursday night is Trivia Night at the Opolis. The fun begins at 8:45 and admission is free, so don’t miss out!

This Friday, the Red Brick Bar  is hosting a night of great music and fun! Head over at 7:00 pm to hear Tim Stratham perform live, then stay after for karaoke night at 10:00 pm! Free admission.

Don’t miss the first annual Arts on the Corner this Saturday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be art tents, local vendor booths, and live music! This is a free event benefitting the Norman Public Schools Art Foundation


Celebrate Cinco de Mayo right with Salsa Night at the Myriad Botanical Gardens this Thursday 7:00-10:00 pm! This event is free, so go enjoy some live music, great food, and even learn a few new dance moves!

This Friday night the Wormy Dog Saloon will host the Dirty River Boys band for a night of live music and great fun! Concert begins at 9:30 pm, admission is $10.

OKC Garden Fest is back this Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Farmers Public Market. Enjoy a variety of plants, garden art, food trucks, and even wineries on site! Free admission.
